Oah, fuck. Not sure, if I am the right one to ask.
I wrecked so many of my pictures by doing too much...!
Another thing I realised is "continuity in a picture". If I work on one picture on two different days, you can often tell what was done at which day. Because your mood may have changed and you're not in the "flow" right away (I mean that your stroke gets free after working an hour or two).
I guess I would go for a series and make another piece in that style.
But then again, I don't want to discourage you with this one. Everything may work out and it may get better.
In situations like this, a good book gave me the answer:
Cast a dice.
If the number is even, work on it some more.
If the number is odd, leave it and work on another picture.
