binaryvision It sort of happened by accident... the model was just sitting on the couch while I was setting up some lights and the idea just popped into my head.
This depicts so many things in addition to it being a portrait of you. It's clean and simple with the desaturated color/clothes/skin and limited variations of color/clothes/skin, but could be twisted into something so complex if wanted to. I really love this piece and i am able relate to it.

binaryvision Basically, the impulse to shoot this was sparked by the much-too-frequent conversation I have with people when I say I do nude photography... The "brighter" of the lot always have some seriously idiotic reactions and it sickens me because what I do is very important to me and at the same time, their comments demean the amount of trust my models put in me when posing.
This was meant to sort of facetiously depict my relationship to the model as a "prop" as a sarcastic response to the constant stupidity I face doing what I do...

meredith I love how you have captured it by staring coldly the opposite way, with some hint of selfishness and the best part was eliminating her eyes, so much so as you don't even have the decency to give your model eye contact and at the same time there is so much relation and energy between the two of you on the couch together. Another interpretation i had [due to my own damaging ;], that fits in with your whole sarcastic response, is of a subject who is also looking out for what they want when they don't even realize that what they want is sprawled out right there in front of their face.
You and the model have the exact same skin tone, which kind of gives this sensation that you’re somehow connected. I find your main intention of capturing a portrait in this format really interesting, and I agree with everyone in saying that the satirical message it evokes is brilliantly expressed. The fact that you can't see her head is a great touch to the whole idea as well. Good job mate. : )
