This was done ages ago (back in August), and was part of the development for one of my oil paintings. I tried to get a good scan of it, but it was hard considering I needed to take two scans for each page since the scanner only fits A4 sheets. Hope you like it.

I REALLY like how you've included the entire sketchbook. For some reason it just adds even more the piece and its just excellent. The tone and the overall pose it just feels like its trying to get out of the pages!

thecasualblue Thanks n_n I really appreciate your comment. Wish I could get a better scan though.
thecasualblue yeah, the actual paper is a sort of creamish colour, but here it looks a bit pinkish (and I didn't want to desaturate it).

keith That could be down to your scanner, but there are ways in photoshop where you can increase the quality of a scan. I remember seeing a tutorial on it once if I can track it down I'll let you know. Also, don't be afraid to use the forum to ask people for help too. Everyone is only too happy to lend their own experience.

thecasualblue Yeah, I've tried doing that, but it always ends up looking 'too' edited. Another downside is that I'm working on quite a textured paper, which kind of makes the drawing (regardless of medium) look grainy, and so when scanned, it looks even more grainy lol. If you could find that tut, it would be great. n_n My scanner at home isn't very good, so I just use the one at the artblock, but I'll be getting a new one hopefully (if Santa thinks I've been a good boy).
This is fabulous and I absolutely love the wire down the middle! I love that it adds a sense of depth and realism about it.
I can understand when things don't turn out how well you'd have liked; I've been feeling this so much the past few months, travelling europe and getting frustrated because my camera doesn't pick up all the amazing detail that the naked eye sees, it can be a real let down.
This is wonderful though, great work :)
