Very cool, love the theme throughout the entire book. Wish I got to do this kind of thing in my classes.

avenue53 Haha, yeah, the whole time I was doing this project my teacher was like "uhh..are you sure you want to do this? How about you focus on the commercial area, but I was just passionate about it and just HAD to do it, and in the end he liked it too :)

devian Hehe, and that's why it turned out so good. You weren't doing some commercial bullshit that held little or no interest, you did something you were passionate about.

avenue53 yeah, exactly. He was partly concerned for my safety too though :) Cause I kept coming back with crazy stories about drug busts, bodies in alleyways and dug up skeletons, haha, I got lucky that I got some great contacts that were willing to show me everything and go out of their way to tell and show me everything.

devian Oh wow, so you actually met some of them? Damn, talk about doing your research.

avenue53 Yeah, it was pretty intense, I only got in contact with 2 but they were great about telling me everything, and pretty much risking their lives by doing so. There were some other angles I wanted to approach the area from, like first generation immigrants, who I got contact info from too, but already had such an abundance of research that inviting more research was only going to complicate the project. I would love to do this project again though, and spend a year on it or something :)
