A few years ago Luis commented to me, your web sites are beginning to look the same, as I used Gill sans as the type face, I loved that face, but he was right and I moved on, all thought I have used it on my web site The Artistic Network.
But I look around today and all you see is helvetica, its like when nothing original comes to mind use helvetica, granted it's a very good looking font. But how many fonts are their out there, to be used, granted there is a lot of crap ones, but how many do we see ?
I counted 6 on the 40 minute journey home tonight. The majority used helvetica.
helvetica is famous at has been trendy to use amongst junior creatives for years now. that doesn't change the fact that it works. good design is not abotu using a font.. its about how use the type and how u set it.and lay it out.

jfml thats true. you can use a good font in terrible ways and you can make something good out of a bad font (but I think the last is a lot harder...).

visionsofthem Luis that exactly what I mean every one resorts to Helvetica I just wish designers would grow a back bone and live dangerously and make other fonts work, trouble is Helvetica is easy to make look good, because there are so many examples of how to make it look good, so people take the easy route.
