Haha, I like this. It's different, and beyond the norm. Also adds confusion and question when looking at this. My only criticism? Touch up the vignette. You can tell where it boxes in the top corners and feels heavily artificial.
From the original thumbnail I thought it was salt and pepper. I'm not really fond of the darkness around the frame... it might be more effective on a different angle... something not so plain and centered. Great concept though. :)
