Description:
This is a photo from my first ever "studio" shoot, age 15. By studio I mean a black sheet on my bedroom wall and floodlights from Bunnings :D
My original idea for this photograph was to use lines to distort and exaggerate the human form. I used body paint and ambient light from two 500W lamps to achieve this effect. I used a Hoya 4+ filter in the darkroom to boost the contrast.

there is absolutely nothing wrong with a home made studio... thats what i currently use (only i have a reddish painted wall.. plant lights and a 5 bulb lamp and a window ;d!)
i'm a huge fan of stripes. this takes me back to the 90's and reminds me of a shirt i used to adore. anyway i love this, its so binding and comforting even though its dark. probably my relation to it though.

bexish A lot of the old masters had home made studios, there's definitely nothing wrong with it. I still consider my studio to be a little home made, backdrops attached to pvc pipes and things like that!
its always what the photographer/artist make of it!
there are a lot images done with a high and studio but not looking like it, and a lot the other way round...
so i think this piece has a professional touch, and it looks like film...
my only nitpick is the format, even when its 34mm, i would have cropped it to 6X7 format...
but thats just me..
