When printing a publication, say tri-fold for example,
(but really for any size/fold of print design)
Is the outside of the publication referred to as the back or the front? or is it just the outside?
& same for the inside.
Is the inside the front or the back? or just called the inside?
I am confusing myself some clarification would be helpful!
Thanks :]

This is pretty much how I perceive it.
If its a tri-fold, holding it up in front of you, the middle is the back, the right side is the front and the left side is the inner page.
The inside is normally the inside because when you fold it, it's still inside.
However, if you're describing it unfolded, I consider the inside as the front and the cover/sleeve/back as the outside.
Hope that helped...

Usually the inside would be considered the back because if it is folded then this is the side you would see second. It's confusing because you read the cover first...but the cover really is on the side you would consider the back. If you're getting something printed though you should double check with your printer to make sure you've set everything correctly...you never know if some retarded printers out there see things differently ;)
