Hi there fellow colleagues!
I'd like to start to use Illustrator and I was wondering if any of you was aware of a simple tutorial for beginners, and for beginners I mean
real
beginners.
Any suggestions, please?

Well, www.pixel2life.com has a shitload of tutorials, so I suggest you take a look there...
But as an experienced illustrator user I can tell you right away that if you master:
1) The path tool
2) The pathfinder
..you'll have a great start!

I don't think illustrator really needs tutorials...not so much as photoshop anyhow. My advice is just to play with everything to see what each tool does. Illustrator is pretty simple...you can learn quickly what you need...everything else that will take time to learn are mostly tools to make life easier!

Dude, Illustrator is easy. I suggest you take a picture and try to vectorize it, that is the best way to learn how to use the program. If you want to do that kind of thing, that is, and not use it to design fonts, etc.

As far was websites with tutorials, I would try
bitbox.com
gomedia.us then click blog
or good-tutorials.com
You could also try my website, I'll probably have some illustrator tutorials up in about a month.
