i was wondering if someone remember the function in very early deviantart: when you put an artwork to your favorites, then a pop-up appears and showed of some artworks related to the one chosen as fave and sorted by the popular ones...
i think this is like the dataspider in amazon.com :"costumers who bought this item, bought also that item.." and so on...
but really that was an awesome function, and could be a nice feature for CS to implement, if right used, ie.: a list with top commented artworks, less viewed, and ,and,and...
ok, thats just me
would be nice to hear if such a thing is possible, or for any good reasoning disliked...

OH YEAH MAN!
That was a right-fu*kin' cool feature! I was pissed when they stopped doing that...
Can we have it? Can we? :D

There had been discussion of this a while back...I tried looking for a relevant topic but couldn't find it!
We will more than likely be implementing a favourites system. I too like the amazon idea and as I said, we have discussed it. Some more thinking will be needed...and then most likely some coding....so on and so forth ;)

This feature has been on our list for quite some time but its more of a matter of time and trying to get all of the core features working before we can compliment the site further with newer features.
However, everything is noted so keep your suggestions and ideas coming!

glad to hear that!
i guess this is a hard work to do, and requires a lot of knowledge, so i think its good to have the site running with these updating options in the future...
makes this place even more worth going for.

Just a thought concerning favourites..
I think to favourite an art piece it should be required to comment on the art piece first. i don't think the act of favouriting will help nourish an artist or the community without explaining why its a favourite or acknowledging it in some way other than just silently adding it to your list of favourite artwork.
It seems like an empty gesture.. imho :]

yepp, i agree, thats one thing i hate about "devart" nowadays.
the only thing you should implement is the function to tell a commentator to write more than 3 words...;-)
just to avoid comments like : i love this, or this is wonderful....bleh!
i guess this will also shape the community feeling and constructive criticism as a whole!

Thats a good idea to delve into.. yeah! Like:
"please enter a more creative response to this artwork" ;d lol
It seems like such a waste toward development to have an art piece with say 20 favourites and no comments. It's Empty and leaves my soul hungry and leaves that piece degraded.
So all i know is people "like it". SO What.
Thanks for taking note, Keith, very much appreciated! :]

There's also the possibility of when favoriting a piece of art, to have a small section below or next to it explaining why the artwork they selected is their favorite.
Kind of a spin off the above two.
Oh, and hi, yes I'm still alive.
