Additional Formats

I think it would be a good idea to allow uploading of other file formats - mainly, .swf and .pdf

I put out a monthly art and philsophy zine that I would love to display here. I try and give it out in as many formats as possible, most are printed copies, but I have online PDF's and flip-able flash copies also. Currently there isn't a way to do this on Creativestem.

Maybe another feature would be to allow custom thumbnails. Allow any file to be uploaded as long as the thumbnail is a jpeg, or gif. This would pretty much expand the sites mediums out side of 2d work.

While there are ideas and plans for future file formats and art mediums (ie. movies and music), this will not be something we will be adding in the near future. There is a lot to consider before we make this step, though it is great to hear feedback about what users would like to see. Thanks for your input!

Like I said, there has been much discussion about it though it's not something we will be adding soon (soon does not mean never). It takes a lot of effort in planning, designing and coding to add additional formats and at the moment there are other more important things that we are focusing more time on.

thats something the company believes in, bt theres still alot of phases and steps to get to before we can reach the point of showcasing film.. still early days my friend.

Hi Mason, thanks for the feedback. As Luis and Carly have said; right now we're focussing on getting our core formats working fully and then once we're happy with those we will definitely be looking into other areas. Its a great suggestion and one we will be looking into quite soon.
