Maybe for signatures we could have them so that they have a noticeable colour difference and maybe instead of four hyphens, just have a line going all across so we can seperate it from someone's message. Sometimes I'll start reading them and wonder what the hell they have to do with the topic.

Can't anybody do this anyway if they input the html?

Oh God. Are we going to start getting red-colour-fonted signatures? I don't think you can put HTML in there.
Even for default, though. For the people too lazy to change it.

Yeah I see it. I think the grey is good. May be a few more hyphens, but too many would look really stupid if they only have a short text

overall will html be discouraged in posts and sigs or are we highlighting that as a feature?

I think basic html should be allowed. Like bold and italics. Insert image.. and link of course

I am really discouraged and wary of freedom of html and customisation though. For people that just want to get noticed. They can completely destroy the look of things. Conform!

Mhm. One of the things I didn't like about one of the old versions of CS was that it was it's allowing users to customize their pages which could go really bad. I agree to conformity throughout the site. Images in the forums isn't too great an idea I think... linking out is better in my opinion, don't want a huge image misaligning everything.
@ carly: Why hyphens? Why not just a line across the bottom separating it from the artist's words?
And banning of those who r teh 1337.

The last line should have been before the @ carly thing. Makes more sense that way I think. :|

maybe incorporate a design so that if you do choose an image you only have a required size & designated place in the message so its aligned down the page if there are multiple images. like how sizing is exact for the profile images.

Yeah maybe no images. I don't know. I think it is okay if people use them wisely. But with mass amount of users it is bound to get ugly.
I really don't like how in flickr people post all those stupid award icons and shit in comments. It's so irritating.
A line separating the signature might end up looking like it's cutting the whole box in two?
