Uploading limit?

How about having an image uploading limit per day?Ê

I have seen too many images get buried by the amount of uploads.

For now I think it is fine just for the fact it's a new site and everyone is putting up their current series of works in one go, once everyone is setup they'll usually only be uploading one at a time so it should work more smoothly.

I suggested having more than 5 new artworks on the main page...but we'll see..

when the site goes live and more people sign up it will become even crazier, I have thoought about capping the limit

but have thought alot of people would hate that and turn away

upload. share. inspire! i like knowing that there's always going to be something new, and i like knowing i have a pile of artwork waiting on me. New artwork on the front page means its time to start getting inspired.. oh and look it goes way beyond the front page, awesome!

@ luis: i like carly's idea... more spots for the new images on the front page, but i also insist on the uploading cap.

@ mere: i hear ya, but like luis said once the site goes public and tons of people are sharing a lot of good stuff will be buried and missed.

Its a very good suggestion fleshy and something we will look into as the site grows. I agree with possibly daily caps.

fleshy, i think what luis means is... only your latest peice is in the latest artworks. if you submit two in a day, then your latest peice will bump the previous one out of the way in the latest artworks, and the veiwer would have to go to your profile if they wanted to see more of your work.

Cap is good, but in the future allow a higher cap for subscribers. Remember, once you start getting the servers maxed when people come, it all means more money. I know it's starting out now, but you should start it now to save... Look at deviantART. They have over 100 servers now. It's insane and they keep having to get more and more because idiot 10 year olds keep putting up massive RAW photos of their cats. Because of that they've had to resort to more ads, higher subscription prices, and selling merch.
