I have a very dark image I have been working on for a CD, and when I show it to others all they see is black. The gray texture on the image is too dark. But in Photoshop for me it shows great. However, in other programs like Fireworks or Windows Viewer, it shows very dark as well. That would suggest the issue is with Photoshop.. I have reset all settings, calibrated my monitor (w/ Huey Pro calibrator) and made sure my brightness/contrast settings on my monitor are ok, but it still shows the same in Photoshop. I am using the usual sRGB profile. When I assign my monitor's profile to the image it shows very dark as well. What can I do to fix this issue? It should show the same in my photoshop as it does on their monitors, but it's way off. Should I just use my monitor's profile? Wouldn't that be a mistake as it wouldn't use standard color settings?
I've never had issues with calibration like this.
