Pen tool is your friend, love it, caress it :)

I hate it! I will not love it! :)
But by doing so, I will never make it professionally. But that is fine. I'm a film junkie first, art junkie second! Muaha

But as far as tips go:
Quick one,
1) Find image
2) Duplicate image
3) Softlight (or overlay depending on your needs) the duplicate
4) Voila
You get something like this: http://tn3-2.deviantart.com/fs29/300W/f/2008/144/6/2/Simple_Tutorial_1_by_aliencraft.jpg

I'll sometimes do that with a light gradial blur to create a bloom effect. Not as much lately though.
I used to hate the pen tool severely, but it makes precise selections and really helps with blending. It's a love/hate relationship. I can't live without it now.

I just don't have the patience to accurately pen out each curve. That's my main beef with it. Plus when your max-res is 1024x768, you don't have much room to work with!

Control+S
Simplify your way of thinking by not using tips :D
Seriously, the pen tool rocks, I always keep my little finger on the Control button to switch between the pen tool and the direct selection tool

WHAT?!?!
Seriously, though; I worked in that resolution for the longest time. Now I wish I'd gotten a bigger monitor, or upgraded to a higher resolution, sooner. (I do most of my work now with a res of 1280x1024.)
As for tips?
* Shift + Control + C (copy all layers to clipboard)
* Extraction tool (especially when doing photomanips)--right now, I prefer it to the pen tool. (It and I don't get along very well.)
* Play with gradient maps.

192mb of ram
voodoo3 graphics card
windows xp
legally, or physically rather, lol, i shouldnt be able to run photoshop with 192mb of ram under windows xp!
isnt the recommended amount of ram for xp like 512mb?
ahah

My genus tools tip:
I) Duplicate, flip around, cut out areas and put together.
II)Duplicate, blend modes, merge layers, do step I.
III)Filters. If you can experiment with them you can learn that filters are not as bad like people say.
genus or not? I think not. ahaha
