Noticing the lack of photographers here and I'm feeling a bit lonely. Wanted to start some photo discussion.
What do you guys shoot with? What settings? Film, or digital?

well see, i have this digital camera and it takes pics, its a crappy one that does like 4 things, so i can put mp3's on it and hook it up to the speakers while i do the dishes too, i love my crappy camera.
and i found this cool setting on it the other day that changes the color slightly it says sepia but it actually goes more of a bluish greenish yellowish orangeish. but all photos must be shot outdoors or indoor with tons of natural light, otherwsie i'm not getting anything.
maybe one day i will be able to take photos like a person should be able to take photos with a real actual camera that takes real actual pictures that are decent. Real BIG Ones. Big Ones That are Decent. Oh and a flash.. a flash would be nice. *dreams*

lol I have a Pentax *istDL. I bought it a little more than a year ago because I was sick of paying for my film (no matter how beautiful the results). I love film, but digital is my avenue right now to test out settings and get used to manual shooting without the buck. It's big, and I bought two lenses with it, so whenever I go around to shoots people always look at me weird because I'm a 16 year old with what they think is a professional camera. All the cameras I have are Pentax, but I'm looking into a Nikon or a Leica if I ever buy another one. I want to buy a fish eye lens, and also get an external flash and battery pack because mine suck.

i play with a 35mm sometimes, with various lenses, one really cool one that goes kind of an orangey red. Sorry i dont know the real terms for anything. So it just gets the name "Really Cool Orangey Red One". But with the 35mm It has the triple exposure on it, which has had some really neat results (im sure digital ones cooler than mine have this), so sometimes its still fun to go the traditional route, and wait impatiently for your photos, though i never get them printed anymore, just on disc.
There's still something more natural looking to those photos, maybe its the more grainy look to them when you get them back as opposed to digital which sometimes is just ridiculously clear.
I usually find my accidental shots, digital or traditional are always the best ones :]

I have a Fujifilm E550 which I use to take photos for my stocks. It's a decent camera but anyway it's one of those compact cameras just with some more controls added. Nothing special.
Someday I'll buy a good DSLR, I'm dreaming of it. My father had a mechanical reflex and was a good amateur photographer... but someome stole all his equipment during his honeymoon, AAARRRGHH!

I like the CanonEOS and Rebel. My friends all have Rebels and I'm totally jealous only because my Pentax is "different". Still, I brag it was the first Pentax D SLR on the market. :)
@ meredith: Film does have the je ne sais quoi. Digital is beautiful... but you know it's digital when it's so damned clear. Though, I like that style so it works for me. I want to go into street photography and I don't know many who use digital for that sort of thing so I need to back track. :D

Nikon D200. I'd love to upgrade, but I keep spending my money on lights...

@ pixnoize: I know that. Just because you put $2000 into a camera doesn't mean anything. People can get good shots out of disposables, and I see some people get better shots out of crap cameras that some people do with their metre-long lenses.
