What kind of music are you listening to (if any) while you're working? I've got an iTunes playlist of some Finger Eleven, Ratatat, The Postal Service, Linkin Park (not they're new album - it sucks). Love listening to the ambient beats and I'm guilty of listening to the depthcore radio.

I don't know why but even though I look like an idiot, when I put on my huge ass headphones, they make me feel all creative. They block out everything surrounding me (e.g. my mom) and keep me focused on whatever the hell I'm working on.

psytrance seems to work well for me when im working, though ive been a little detatched from the scene of late... Mr Peculiar's - Infinite Evolution is a good album i can recommend amongst the current lot...
also listen to a lot of dzihan & kamien, nitin sawhney, nusrat fateh ali khan and such... good to work to... makes you feel right...
otherwise its mostly classic rock / old school hip hop...

its funny how certain music will take you in certain directions and the time in our life when said music was in the forefront. i eventually end up associating songs and styles with past artwork, times, and situations, inevitably tainting those songs/styles and finding them hard to listen to or be inspired by again without relating it to the previous content.

Yeah music influences your art a lot and thats why I wanted to pose the question. A lot of us listen to ambient sort of stuff because I think that keeps our minds neutral, but you can tell which guys are listening to their hard rock and whos listening to the classical stuff.

Well, one can apply the formula: (Length of hair) / (No. of clothes in wardrobe) and in 99% of all cases you can tell how metal that person is, hah.

I used to use LastFM then I forgot to turn on their app. Winamp should just come up with their own lastFM system. I'd use that!
Oh, and when working its usually on random. However.
Massive Attack
Daft Punk
Air
The Beatles
Radiohead
are but a few off the top of my head that I will select intentionally.

Crap. I forgot to install it on this computer. For some reason I thought it automatically would know who I am when I got this new lap top.
