Some people seem to be a little confused about what the scratchpad is and how exactly it should work.
While it still has quite a few bugs that need to be fixed, I at least can explain how it is supposed to work!
WHAT IT IS
There are a few basic suggested uses for the scratchpad:- Work in progress- Step-by-step guide- To showcase a set of works- Or even a sketchbook
It was hoped that artists would upload their works in progress to track and document their project either publicly or privately and also allow for other users to make comments/suggestions on their work. The beauty of this is that you and other users can see a time line of works in one project from start to finish, rather than having multiple artworks scattered over the website from being uploaded at different times.
Still confused? Think of it a bit like a filing system. You have your filing drawer (scratchpad), then you have individual folders within that drawer to separate each set (projects). For instance you may have all your phone bills in one folder, and all your gas bills in another! Then within this folder, each bill is filed chronologically (artworks within the project).
HOW IT WORKS
Now once you've grasped the concept of how it works, all you need to do is upload your stuff! To do this, you'll need to go into the upload tab and look for 'scratchpad', easy enough. This screen is much like the upload artwork one but works a little differently.
TitleWhen you are making a new scratchpad this will be the title of your scratchpad. For this you will also leave 'make scratchpad project' as is and privacy level to whatever you wish.
If you are adding to an already existing scratchpad, then the title becomes the title of the artwork within the scratchpad. You then need to select from the drop down which existing scratchpad you want to add it to.
Tags, Upload, DescriptionThese work exactly the same as the upload artwork screen. In this case they are all individual to each image you upload within a project.
Don't forget, if you've messed something up you can always edit or delete as you like.
Hope this has answered any questions. If not...ask away!
